PGA of Canada Professionals

block 1

Don Connolly
Head Professional

In 1998, with a degree in golf course management under his belt, Don became the assistant professional at the Riverside Country Club. Over the next two decades, he dedicated much of his time at the club - working, teaching and, most importantly, learning from his mentor, Jim Connolly. He also continued his professional development by becoming a Class "A" member of the PGA of Canada in 2008, as well as obtaining a Level 2 TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Certification which helps his students increase performance through a deep understanding of how the body functions during the golf swing.

Don became the head professional of Riverside in 2016. His passion and dedication for the game remains after all these years. This is mainly due to the fact that he loves teaching, promoting the game, and seeing long-time members, as well as new ones, on the course. Don especially enjoys working with the junior golfers and ensuring they have fun while learning valuable life lessons through the game of golf.

Don is married to Tracey and has two beautiful children, Kenzie & Cas.

block 2

James Sinclair
Assistant Professional

James has been a golf professional since 2008 but began working at Riverside at age 14.  A graduate of the Professional Golf Management (PGM) course at Holland College, he went on to receive his “Class A” status in the PGA of Canada in 2012.

James’ passion for teaching was developed from an early age, learning from Jim Connolly and his son Don. He has been a staple working with and developing the junior golfers here at Riverside since 2009. James approaches each new personality individually and firmly believes there is no silver bullet to teaching golf. It is about fundamentals, understanding a person's strengths and practice.

“The most rewarding things you do in life are often the ones that look like they cannot be done.” Arnold Palmer
